When you subscribe, we receive your email address and any additional information you choose to provide. Subscription records may include your subscription status, preferences, signup source, and interactions with our publication.
When you email us, we receive your email address, the contents of your message, and any contact, professional, or organizational details and attachments you provide. Please limit submissions to information you are authorized to share.
Our website and newsletter platform, Beehiiv, may collect technical and engagement information, such as IP address, browser or device information, pages viewed, referral information, and email opens or link clicks. Cookies and similar technologies may support site functions, security, and measurement. The information collected depends on the features in use and your browser or email settings.
We use information to deliver the newsletter and publication updates; manage subscriptions and preferences; respond to speaking, media, professional, and research inquiries; consider corrections and suggested sources; understand readership and improve our work; and maintain security, records, and compliance with applicable requirements.
Sending us an inquiry does not itself enroll you in the newsletter. Research participation and newsletter subscription are separate choices.

We do not sell or rent our subscriber list or personal contact information to sponsors, research funders, consulting clients, or other third parties. Funding or purchasing a PERM publication does not provide access to identifiable subscriber or contributor records.
We may disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, respond to fraud or abuse, or maintain the security of our services. We may also disclose information at your direction or with your permission.
Our research draws on public records and voluntary professional contributions. Please do not send identifiable Medicaid beneficiary records, Social Security numbers, medical records, credentials, confidential employer material, or information subject to a restriction on disclosure. This website and our ordinary email channel are not intended to receive confidential beneficiary or case-level data.
If you provide a correction or research suggestion, we may use it to improve our work. Contact us before submitting material if attribution, confidentiality, or publication permissions need to be agreed. An ordinary email does not establish a confidentiality agreement.
Before collecting responses to the planned community survey, we will provide a survey-specific notice explaining what information is collected, whether participation is anonymous or identifiable, how responses will be used, attribution choices, retention, and what may appear in research outputs or appendices. Identifiable responses will not be treated as a public raw-data appendix without a disclosed basis and appropriate permission. Subscribing to this publication is not consent to participate in a survey.
You can stop newsletter emails using the unsubscribe link in an email or by contacting us. You may also contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information we hold, or to raise a privacy concern. We will respond as required by applicable law and may need to verify your identity without requesting unnecessary information. Some records may need to be retained for legal, security, or suppression purposes, including to avoid sending emails after you unsubscribe.
Browser settings can restrict or delete cookies, and email settings can limit automatic image loading. These settings may affect functionality or measurement and may not prevent every form of tracking.
